met many friends that helped care for all of us. She tried her best to make it to every sporting or school event to make sure the kids knew they had the best fan in the house. Steve used to get so embarrassed of her cheering and would often ask her to not cheer. But you couldn't have silenced her in cheering for her kids. Our friends loved her. She forged bonds so closely with so many of our friends that feel more like family. We even took in a few extra friends throughout difficult times in their lives that Mom welcomed and raised just as they were her own. Barb was well known for working at Bud's, The Country Club, then Casa Rios. She made many friends with the people she met through Casa Rios. Most importantly her best friend, Tami Adams. They've maintained a bond long after Casa Rios has closed. Barb was promoted to Nan (Grandma) in January of 2004 when Maddox was born. She radiated pure joy and happiness anytime she held him or spoke of him. Jagger joined in 2005, Fiona in 2007, Harlow in 2013, then later Jovee was added in and welcomed just as her own in 2018. She had such a unique bond with each one of them. Often having them over on Sunday's for soup. They loved Nan's house and her cooking. Nothing brought her more joy than her grandkids. She was so proud watching them at their sporting events or school events. She was a quiet and reserved woman but she would never shy away from bragging about her grandkids. Any home event you could guarantee Nan would be there, (with her lucky blanket). The kids' friends all called her Nan as well. She had such a loving way about her and made everyone feel like family. Nan's heart was shattered when Steve passed away in January of 2020. In her true form, she got up and kept moving forward with a broken heart. She missed him so dearly and still managed to keep his memory alive and tell funny stories to always keep his memory close to our hearts. We will miss you, Nan. We know you found the love and peace you needed to heal your heart. Stay close to us. Barb is survived by her daughter, Gill (Will) Oostveen, ex son in law, James Morton, ex Daughter in law Teah Gorski, Grandkids, Maddox, Jagger, Fiona, Harlow, and Jovee.
