Ernie Namendorf, of Antigo, died on June 3, 2024 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital. He was 73 years old. He was born on November 30, 1950 in Jersey City, New Jersey, a son of the late Ernest and Eleanore (Lucht) Namendorf.
Ernie served in the United States Army having enlisted on June 25, 1970. He was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the ASA and NSA. He was honorably discharged on July 8, 1982.
While in the service he met and married Dorothy Ohman, they had one son, Jeffrey. The couple divorced and she preceded him in death.
He later married Linda Aschbrenner and they moved to Wisconsin to operate a dairy farm in the town of Harrison. The couple divorced. Ernie also worked on the Nagel Farm in Deerbrook.
Ernest was an avid baseball card collector and enjoyed world and military history. He was a past treasurer of the Antigo Stock Car Association.
Survivors include a son, Jeffrey Namendorf of Antigo; a granddaughter, Elondra Namendorf (Matthew Pyle) of Antigo; two great-grandchildren, Harvey Namendorf and Charles Namendorf-Pyle; three brothers, Ronald D. Military Honors were held at the Bradley Funeral Home. Entombment will take place in Manahawkin, New Jersey.
