Fred Greening

Fred Greening, age 93, of Northglenn, Colorado died on June 11, 2024. He was born on October 16, 1930 in Antigo, a son of the late Fred and Margret (Rosio) Greening. Fred attended Peace Lutheran Grade School and was a graduate of Antigo High School. He was an exceptional high school athlete playing football, basketball, baseball, and hockey. A Korean War veteran, Mr. Greening served in the United States Air Force on a B-26. He married Nanette Ryter in 1957, the couple had three children and later divorced. He enjoyed hunting and being a scoutmaster for over 20 years with his sons' Boy Scout troop. He had a long career at Sundstrand Manufacturing in Colorado, retiring as a manufacturing engineer. Following his retirement he worked part-time at the gun range, enjoyed spending time in his metal shop and watching westerns. Survivors include two sons, Doran Greening of Grand Junction, CO, and Duane Greening of Northglenn, CO; daughter, Shari (Brent) Bredehoft of Rixeyville, VA; two grandchildren, Belle Bredehoft and Blake (Courtney) Bredehoft; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Greening of Neenah. d two brothers, Jack Greening and Carl Greening. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 21 at 11 a.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors will take place in Elmwood Cemetery, Antigo. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
