volunteered at Hope Lutheran Church in many areas. She was a part of the mailing ministry, working with others to assemble and send out information for the church. She also enjoyed helping to prepare crafts for the preschool program where she could. Her attention to detail could be seen in her hand-made cards, paper boxes and needle work. She loved spending time with her granddaughters, reading chapter books, playing countless games and setting a good example while memorizing scripture. Ellie and Don spent many happy hours driving their granddaughters around looking for the best playground and ice cream spots while singing aloud to cassette tapes. Ellie shared her love of handicrafts by teaching them how to embroider and crochet. She also carefully crafted the best way to throw a slobbery ball during a game of fetch for each of her furry grand-dogs. She was known to have a smile on her face often, and enjoyed playing practical jokes on people- though no one would ever suspect sweet Ellie! She will be remembered for her organization, love and wonderful sense of humor. Eleanor's funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 25th at 10:30 AM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 & Long Pond Rd.) Entombment to follow at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Holy Childhood, 100 Groton Pkwy., Rochester, New York 14623.
