It is with immense sadness that we announce the loss of Joseph Richard Deniz, who passed away June 21, 2024. Joseph was a kind and caring individual whose joyful personality brought joy to those around him.
Joseph proudly served his country in the US Army in the 2nd Infantry Division as a SP4 Drone Operator. He protected his fellow soldiers while in Afghanistan, detecting 68 IED's in a single day, saving hundreds of lives. This is who he was. He will be remembered as our hero.
Survived by his father Richard Deniz; Stepmother Nadezhda Deniz; Sister Kelly Curdie and her husband James; Step Brother Mihail Guschin; Paternal Grandparents: Alvin and Geri Deniz; Maternal Grandmother Michelle Barbaccia; 3 nieces and 4 nephews; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Preceded in death by his mother Maret Deniz and Brother Robert Clark.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024 beginning with a visitation at 10:00 a.m. at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel; at 11:00 a.m., there will be Military Honors Ceremony at the Los Banos District Cemetery.
