Rita J. Matranga (nee Bilotta), on July 7, 2024, of Bellmawr, NJ formerly of South Philadelphia. Age 88. Beloved wife of the late Philip S. Matranga. Devoted mother of Joseph M. Matranga (Rosemarie B), Steven N. Matranga (Donna DeMatteo), and Cheryl Ann Matranga. Loving grandmother of Gina Chobert (Daniel), Christina Behringer (Halston), Philip Matranga, and Daniel Matranga. Adoring great-grandmother of Brayden J. Chobert, Anthony J. Chobert, and Jax J. Behringer. Dear sister of Andrew Bilotta (Emily), Regina Lozzi (Lou) and the late Ronald Bilotta (Lona). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Rita never forgot her roots. She was a Philly girl through and through-never missing an opportunity to do the famous Mummer's strut. At 21 years old, she married Philip and a year later moved to Bellmawr, NJ where she lived for 65 years. For the past 3 years, she lived at The Landing of Washington Square in Sewell, NJ where she felt at home with many other Philly natives. A whiz with numbers, Rita was a bookkeeper by trade. ther to her four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren as a caregiver when they were growing up. She never missed an opportunity to attend sporting events, recitals etc. Having been raised in South Philly, it's no surprise that Rita was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. She never missed a Phillies or Eagles game. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling, playing cards and traveling. There will be a visitation from 9:45am to 10:45am on Friday, July 12, 2024 at St. Joachim Parish, Annunciation BVM Church, 601 W. Browning Road, Bellmawr, NJ. Funeral Mass 11am in the church.
