Barbara Bessert, of Mattoon, died on October 22, 2024 at her home. She was 69 years old. She was born on March 28, 1955 in Antigo, a daughter of the late Raymond Taggart and Delores (Stone) Wimmer.
She was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1973.
Barbara enjoyed crocheting and sewing, having made baby blankets and clothing for her children. She loved singing karaoke, her favorite was "Last Kiss" by the Cavaliers. Barbara cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She recently starting doing Diamond Art.
Survivors include four daughters, Amy (Christopher) Bessert of Antigo, Nicole (Rupert) Bessert of Mattoon, Carla Bessert of Shawano, Katherin Maddix of White Lake; son, Adam (April) Bessert of Antigo; two brothers, Donald (Sue) Taggart of Appleton, Tim (Crystal) Taggart of Merrill; thirteen grandchildren, Austin Maddix, Brennitta (Bobby) Strong, Kain Bessert, Erikka (Michael) Randall, Colleen (Dennis) Sutte, Desirae Seever, Xavionna Welch, Shayden Welch, Natalia Maddix, Nakaia Welch, Samantha Bessert, Nevaeh Mosher and Kaiden Mosher; cousin, Dorothy Sharp; and many more cousins, nieces, and nephews.
