Diane Lynn (Dede) Benoit
(October 16,1950 - November 25, 2024)
Diane Lynn (Dede) Benoit, 74, of North Liberty, Iowa, died unexpectedly at University of Iowa Hospitals on November 25, 2024.
Dede was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Melvin and Alice Nowotny. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School. She enjoyed her employment in the Payroll Department at the University of Iowa, where she particularly liked to help people. Dede had a beautiful and kind nature. She did not like to call attention to herself and made others feel valued. Her heart was joyful in caring for the animals around her home in the woods on the Coralville Reservoir. She fed the deer, had a cat colony, and loved dogs as well. And if you got to hike, boat, or spend any time with her, your heart
was refreshed.
Since becoming one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1977, she was loved by several congregations in both Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. Her dearest friends continue to treasure her humor, her faith, and her loyalty in her volunteer ministry.
Dede was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her loving son, Joeby (Stacey) Dyer; her grandsons, Kaizer Dyer and Koyer Dyer; her brother, Den...[more]
nis Nowotny and his wife, Nila Haug; her nephew, Michael (Jaclyn) Nowotny and several great-nieces.
A memorial will take place on December 21, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 7121 Mount Vernon Rd SE Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
