Mary Marlene Tancrede

Mary Marlene (Wallace) Tancrede was born on July 12, 1943, in Ames, Iowa to Russell & Inez (Wahe) Wallace. Mary enjoyed playing bingo, reading her books, and watching old westerns. Her favorite thing of all was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary was an excellent cook, especially her German dishes, her chocolate cake and chocolate chip cookies. She loved the mountains, thus living in Colorado for many years before moving to Iowa. Mary left behind a legacy, with a number of siblings, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her family, and she loved hard. Mary made sure everyone knew what she had to say, even if she had to be sassy about it. Mary is survived by her four children Chris (DeMoss) Harrigan (Sam) of Aurora, CO; Michael DeMoss (Wendy) of Port Orchard, WA; Rhonda (DeMoss) VanDerHart of Norwalk, IA and Rebecca (DeMoss) Smith (Chad E.) of Norwalk, IA. Mary passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Tancrede; her parents and two brothers, Ronald Wallace and Duane Wallace. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a celebration of life to be determined at a later date.
