n Antigo. After Vern's passing, she relocated to New Mexico and then Oklahoma with John and they enjoyed many years there until his death. Lana returned to Wisconsin in 2008 where she was able to spend time with her children and grandchildren, entertaining them with her quick wit, ice cream eating prowess, singing of classics by artists like Tom Lehrer, and telling of never ending stories. She was often heard saying to a grandchild " Did I ever tell you about? " Although she often had, they all graciously listened to hear perhaps a new tidbit or twist to the story. Throughout her life she had a love for antiques, garage sales, and auctions which she shared with Vern, John and many friends throughout her years, especially her dear friend, Dawn. Lana was an expert Cribbage, Scrabble and Yahtzee player in her day and was always proud when she held the "high score". She had a love of gambling slots that brought her hours of enjoyment, often claiming it as her "off to work" time . She and Vern were members of Bass Lake Country Club and enjoyed their years of golfing there. Lana lived her life on her own terms and was often a force to be reckoned with. She was a woman of firm faith and convictions. She raised her children in a strong Christian tradition. Lana has been a true blessing to her entire family, she will live on in many hearts and treasured memories. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery in Mattoon. A special thank you to Lakeshore Manor for their loving care of Lana over the past few years and to Preceptor Hospice during her last weeks. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Lana's name to Lakeshore Manor, 711 Bayshore Drive, Oshkosh, Wisconsin, 54901.
