erved as agricultural administrator for campus area farming services. He ended his career in the Department of Agricultural Education and Studies as Professor in Charge of the ISU Ag 450 Farm. Larry had a passion and love for teaching students and working with adults on problem solving in farm management and agriculture. Larry married Bonnie Ryerson on February 2, 1969, and they were blessed with one daughter, Elizabeth. Larry was a member of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers and served as the Secretary-Treasurer of the Iowa Chapter for 26 years. He was a long-time member of the Ames United Church of Christ and served on various boards and committees. Larry was also a member of the Ames Golden K Kiwanis Club, where he was passionate about "helping the kids." Serving in different roles in that group gave him purpose and joy, and he treasured his friendships that he made in the group. "Mr. Larry" especially enjoyed helping the Sawyer Elementary School children with their reading skills. He enjoyed yard work, traveling with family and friends, and entertaining the grandchildren at Grandpa/Grandma camps. Larry was a loyal Cyclone fan, and many trips were made to Hilton Coliseum over the years to support the basketball teams. Larry is survived by his wife Bonnie, daughter Elizabeth (Daniel) Lieb of San Diego, CA; grandchildren Rachel Lieb and Joseph Lieb, sisters Jnelle (Bob) Keysor of Treynor, Iowa; Janice (Donald) Ball of Kissee Mills, MO; Jeanette (Alan) Frost of Lake Mary, FL; brother-in-law David Kroon of Spring, TX; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Joyce Kroon. Visitation will take place at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care, 414 Lincoln Way, Ames, on Friday, April 18, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Ames United Church of Christ, 217 Sixth Street, on Saturday, April 19, at 11:00 a.m., with the burial of cremains at the Cambridge Cemetery later in the afternoon. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorials be directed to the Ames Golden K Foundation, the Ames United Church of Christ, or the Education Foundation, Iowa Chapter of Farm Managers.
