Sheryl A. (Kennedy) Kamps, 69, of Slater passed away at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, after a seven-year battle with breast cancer.
A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care (414 Lincoln Way, Ames, Iowa 50010) from 4:00-6:00 p.m. with a private family burial to be held at the Kelley City Cemetery.
Sheryl was born June 22, 1955 in Ames, Iowa to Marvin and Alberta (Hagen) Kennedy. She was raised in Kelley, Iowa. She graduated from Ballard High School in 1973 and attended DMACC.

whether attending their activities, doing crafts, or just having snuggle time.
Sheryl also had a great love of the outdoors be it riding her bike, spending time in her garden, water walking with her gal pals, or enjoying lunch and a cool drink on her front porch. Her greatest enjoyment came from collecting Monarch caterpillars from her butterfly bushes and giving them to her grandchildren or keeping a few for herself to observe the miracle of transformation from caterpillar to chrysalis, to butterfly, and release.
Sheryl is survived by her husband, Ron, sons: Brad (Angie) of Polk City, Ryan (Amy) of Overland Park, KS, five grandchildren, Annaliese, Brenna, Lucy, Harrison, and Molly. Her Mother Alberta Kennedy of Ankeny, sisters: Susan (Wayne) Harris of Ames, Michelle (Chris) Rembert of Ankeny, brother, Alan (Christine) Kennedy of Huxley, sister-in-law Karen (Larry) Schunck of Des Moines, brother-in-law, Steve Kamps of Polk City his friend Jackie Schwartz of Ankeny along with her nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Kennedy, a nephew Cameron Kennedy, father-in-law and mother-in-law Rudy and Donna Kamps.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family and a decision will be made later as to its use.
