Jeffrey Browning

Born: August 15, 1957
Passed: February 10, 2026
Funeral Home: Ed Lee Mortuary
Jeffrey "Jeff" Browning passed away on February 10, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on August 15, 1957, to William and Theresa (McAtee) Browning, Jeff lived a life defined by genuine kindness, loyalty, laughter, and an impressive depth of knowledge. Jeff had one of those minds that seemed to hold everything--sports statistics, random facts, history, music... you name it. If a trivia game broke out, there was only one strategy: get Jeff on your team. He loved sports in every form, but above all, he held a lifelong loyalty to the Cincinnati Reds. He spent many years coaching and umpiring Little League baseball and softball and was widely respected for his fairness and deep knowledge of the game. Jeff was often sought out to umpire tournaments and All-Star games--a true testament to the trust others placed in his skill and integrity. Jeff had a sharp wit and a dry, effortless sense of humor. ever an accident. Known for offering honest opinions and suspiciously accurate insight on just about any subject, Jeff was someone people genuinely listened to--usually with a mix of respect, curiosity, and mild concern about where this was going. More often than not, he was right, which somehow only made things worse. Jeff shared a lifelong bond with a close-knit group of friends from high school affectionately known as "The Family." Decades later, that bond remained strong--built on shared history, unwavering loyalty, and friendships that truly stood the test of time. He cherished time on the golf course with his buddies, especially during the annual Pro Hackers golf trip to Kentucky--trips filled with competition, camaraderie, and stories that improved with every retelling. Jeff also loved '70s rock/blues music and concerts. While sports, music and trivia were lifelong passions, nothing mattered more to Jeff than his family--especially his nieces and nephews. He showed his love by showing up and being supportive. Time spent with Jeff was rarely boring and often unforgettable. Jeff lived a life full of happiness, humor, meaningful conversation, and lasting laughter, leaving behind memories that will continue to bring smiles for years to come. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Theresa Browning, and his brothers, Joe and John Browning. Jeff is survived by his siblings, Jim (Pam), Jay, Jerry, and Beth Browning; his aunt, Lucille Ray; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, golf buddies, and countless others who were fortunate to know him. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Ed L. Lee Mortuary, with Father Paul Ferguson and Yvonne Evans officiating.
