Lorenzo "Pocalus" Silva, age 79 of San Jose, California, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 9th, 2026 in Los Baños, California. He was born on November 2nd, 1946 to parents Santos Silva and Maria Del Rosario Sanchez in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico. He migrated to the US in 1965. Soon after, he met and married his wife Maria on February 14th, 1967. Lorenzo worked multiple jobs throughout his life to support his family, including cleaning engines in a tow yard, working as a dishwasher in a restaurant, working as a steelworker and lastly working as a welder for 15 years. He was proud to work on tanks for Desert Storm and help weld some roller coasters at Great America, Knott's Berry Farm, and Magic Mountain during his welding career. In his retirement, he and Maria moved to their beloved Rancho in Baja California for over 21 years. He is survived by his wife, Maria Sandoval Silva to whom he was married to for 59 years, as well as his five children: Sandy Silva, Julie Silva, Laurie Silva, Francisco Silva, and Steve Silva.
