a. He entered paradise on their 50th wedding anniversary. Duane served in the U.S. Army for two years. He was employed for thirty-one years at the Tipton Power Plant before retiring and moving to Woden. For the past nine years Duane and Betty were MMAPers (Mobile Missionary Assistance Program) and built churches or camps from Alaska to Florida and in between. Duane was happiest when he was on mission, (six months in 2008). He was an active member of Evangelical Free Church in Britt. He is survived by his wife, Betty, of Woden; three daughters, Denise (Glenn) Lehrman of Marion, Barbara (Rev. James) Debner of Southington, CT and Arnetta (David) Gosse of Iowa City; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brothers, Vernon (Sheryl) Hanna of Woden, Ron (Marlys) Hanna of Swea City and Harlan (Virginia) Hanna of Dayton, OH; a sister, Marcine (Guy) Carlson of Minnoka, IL; and a brother-in-law, Dick Havlik of Palmyra, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Rosezella Havlik; and a nephew who was their ring bearer, Keith Havlik.
