Susan M. Cummings, 60, Howard, passed on to a better life after succumbing to cancer on Saturday evening, April 2, 2005 at her home with her family near. She was born on August 26, 1944 in Oconto Falls, WI to the late Francis and Helen (Hamlin) Swearingen and spent her early childhood in the Town of Doty. Her family then moved to Green Bay where she attended East High School. Susan was employed by Boy Scouts of America for 34 years until her recent illness. She raised two daughters and married Dale Cummings on August 12, 1978; he preceded her in death on April 1, 2004. Susan enjoyed the country living in Howard, especially all the wildlife. Also the most enjoyable times in her life were spent at ?Camp Wilderness? every summer with her family. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Renee and Jeff Lepak, Green Bay; four grandchildren: Damien, Chad and Katie Lepak, and Tim Oates; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Margaret ?Peg? and Bernie Watermolen, Silver Cliff, WI, and Karen and Gary DuQuaine, Green Bay; one brother and sister-in-law: Robert and Sue Swearingen, Cottonwood, CA; aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. th by one daughter, Michelle Oates, and one brother, William Swearingen. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Lombardi Ave. at Ridge Rd. Visitation will continue after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, 501 Howe Street, Green Bay, where funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Johnsen officiating. Interment in Nicolet Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com. In lieu of flowers, Sue has asked that gifts be made to support the Bay Lakes Council campership fund, which sends under-privileged youth to summer camp.
