Donald ?Don? J. Erickson, 78, Oneida, died Wednesday, August 3, 2005, following a five-month battle with cancer. He was born May 10, 1927, to the late Haldor and Molly (Hock) Erickson, Sr. in Oneida, Wisconsin. During the Korean Conflict, he served his country in the U. S. Army. On August 26, 1972, he married Carol Zastrow. Don retired from Fort Howard Paper Company in 1989, following 40 years of service. He enjoyed many activities during his retirement including darts, making wine, gardening, fishing, hunting and membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2113. Don was a volunteer for the Hobart Fire Department for 24 years. Survivors include his wife, Carol; one son, Leif (Trisha Timm), Green Bay; five daughters, Leesa Erickson (Wayne Sigl), Neenah; Laurie (Mike) Benz, Green Bay; Lynette Ortiz, Phoenix, Arizona; Melissa (Neal) Sharkey, Green Bay; and Debbie Brungraber, De Pere; ten grandchildren; three brothers and four sisters-in-law, Harold and Arlyn Erickson, Oneida; Haldor Erickson, Jr., Pulaski; Jerome and Lynn Erickson, Pittsfield; and Barbara Erickson, Oneida; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mildred Johnson, Green Bay; Dorothy Martin, De Pere; Clara and Lee...[more]

Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, August 7, at Lyndahl Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Monday after 10:00 A.M. at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1731 St. Agnes Drive, Green Bay, where the funeral service will take place at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Hal Toenjes officiating. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Oneida. A memorial fund has been established.
