Fred ?Fritz? M. Martin, 58, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2006, at his home. Fred passed away after a courageous battle with cancer and sarcoidosis. When Fred passed, he was surrounded by his family that stood by him every step of the way. We are very proud of his strength and passion for life. Fred was born December 13, 1947, to Muriel (Schaut) Martin and the late Fred H. Martin. He is survived by his wife Gloria; two daughters, Holly (Dwayne) Jennings and Tammy (Tony) Teebo; stepson, Brian Mathewson; granddaughter, Sophia Teebo; his mother, Muriel Martin; two sisters, Nancy (William) Merryfield and Patti Martin; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Herold and Elna Bruss; brother-in-law, Robert (Julie) Bruss; sister-in-law, Betty (Robert) Duescher; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Fred was employed by Van Drisse Lincoln-Mercury for over 30 years, until he became disabled in 2001. During his career at Van Drisse, he met many people that became life-long friends. especially when the joke was on them. These memories are sure to bring a smile to your face. Fred will also be remembered for his ?wheeler dealer? mentality. No salesperson was ever going to find a sales experience with Fred to be an easy one. His motto was ?anything is for sale if the price is right?. Over Fred's lifetime, he had many hobbies including golfing, boating and being ?on the go?. His two favorite hobbies were going for a ride in the car and spending time with his family. He enjoyed cars, especially his red corvettes that he owned in the late nineties and 2000. He specifically enjoyed driving around in his vette listening to the Beach Boys, and any ?old but goodies songs?, while creating his own version to the songs. Fred has left a mark on many people. He would want to be remembered for the above reasons, that is what makes him legendary in our minds. Friends may call after 9:00 A.M. Sunday, March 26, at Lyndahl Funeral Home where the funeral service will take place at 1:00 P.M. with the Rev. Marty Williams officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Fred's name. Download or view the memorial video by clicking here.
