Robert Leo Gezella, 77, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2007. He was born June 7, 1929, in the town of Eaton, Wisconsin, the son of the late Leo and Julia (Piontek) Gezella. On June 10, 1950, he married Jacqueline Cropsey at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Green Bay, Wisconsin. They shared 56 years together and raised four children. Bob was employed at Green Bay Packaging for 43 years. He began in the factory working on different machines and later joined the maintenance department. He then advanced to the corporate department as a mechanical maintenance coordinator until his retirement. Bob was a volunteer fireman in Ashwaubenon. He was in a card club with the Ashwaubenon ?old? neighbors from Cottage Grove Ave. in the 50's and remained friends over the years spending vacations at each other's cottages in Northern Wisconsin. He also volunteered on the Silver Cliff Fire and Rescue Squad Auxiliary where they lived for seven years. He loved hunting and fishing. wski, Adam Olbrantz, Nick Gezella; his children, Molly (Eric) Compton, Kelly (Chris) Tarmann, Kristy Casey and Matthew Casey, Peggy (Barry) Roff, their children Alissa, Olivia and Hope; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Owen Gezella, Collin, Zachary and Paige Olbrantz, Rachel Anker and Griffin Kornowski; sisters-in-law, Emily (John), Elaine (Chester), Florence (Adolph) Gezella, Mary Seymour and Joan Herren; brother-in-law, William (Nancy) Cropsey; nieces and nephews; and his precious dog, Sophie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Gregory Peter and Gregory Jon; his siblings, Agnes (Bill) Goral, John Gezella, Ed (Ruth) Gezella, Joseph (Margaret) Gezella, Frances (Michael) Peters, Adolph Gezella, Chester Gezella, Ceil (Richard) Schmechel, Eleanor (Paul) Coenen; brothers-in-law, Darrell Seymour and Charles Herren, nieces and nephews; his mother and father-in-law, Alfred ?Manny? and Gladys Cropsey. Bob was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church and Chapel in Silver Cliff. There will be a private service for the immediate family. Entombment will be in the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. The family would like to thank the many doctors, especially Dr. Gunar Strungs, Dr. Steven Roh and his wonderful assistant, Nicole Compton, Unity Hospice and St. Vincent Home Health Care nurses, and the rehabilitation department at St. Vincent's Hospital, and most of all, our daughter, Holly and her husband, Dan, with whom they made their home. Holly took over the physical, mental, running and phone calls. Thank you so much. All of our siblings and grandchildren have been a great help during Bob's illness since October. We are very blessed.
