Merlin Kuske

Merlin A. Kuske, 79, Green Bay, died Friday, June 15, 2007 at home. He was born January 17, 1928 in the Town of Pittsfield, to the late Henry and Clara (Dehn) Kuske. On August 22, 1953, he married Janice Kimps in Green Bay. Merlin served in the U.S. Army with the 14th Engineering Battalion in Korea. He was employed by H.J. Martin & Son for 33 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of Carpenters' Local 1146. Merlin was a longtime member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church where he had served in the past as financial secretary, on the board of stewardship, and numerous terms as trustee. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry, gardening, Packer games, and playing on the Pilgrim dart ball team. He cherished the time spent with his family and friends at the family cottage on Ground Hemlock Lake. Seymour and Lorraine (Herman) Bessert, Lakewood; sister-in-law, Elaine and Jerry Statz, Green Bay; many nieces, nephews and friends. Merlin was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Henry Kuske, Jr. and brothers-in-law James Vanden Langenberg and Ormond Laha. A special thanks to Dr. Hartig and Dr. Jaslowski and their staff for their care and concern during Merlin's illness. Visitation will continue Monday, June 18, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1731 St. Agnes Dr. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. at the church.
