Jerry Olm

Jerry Big Jer Olm passed away Friday, Feb. 8, at home surrounded by family. Despite spending the last couple years with major health problems, he continued to entertain everyone he could with his singing and guitar/banjo playing whenever he got the chance. After living in Ludington, Mich., for many years, he recently returned to Wisconsin to be closer to his family. Although officially retired from his days of heavy equipment operating, auto mechanic and body work, stock car racing, etc., his passion for these hobbies never wavered, along with old cars, motorcycles, inventing, music and fishing. Born April 12, 1941, in Sheboygan, Wis., to the late Romeo and Gladys (Valleskey) Olm. Survivors include two daughters, Jeri Olm (Chris Forcey), Gina (Elliot) Christenson; four grandchildren, Corinna Wanish, Kyle, Ben, and Max Christenson; one brother, Jim (Joanne) Olm; one sister, Nancy (Tom) Bowens; two stepbrothers, Jerry (Peggy) Weyer, Gene (Marilyn) Weyer; two stepsisters, Nona (Steve) Zellmer, Sue (Steve) Strieter; aunt, Betty Lou (Olm) Lutze; brother-in-law, Brian Fellrath; special friend, Frances Miller; two ex-wives, Karen #2 (Zahn) (Olm) Morton, Karen #3 (Lund) Olm. Jerry was preceded in death by two sons, Timothy and Jeffrey Olm; two sisters, Patricia Olm, Janell Fellrath; two ex-wives, Karen #1 (Dokey) (Olm) Van Ess, Barbara (Hayward) Olm. Visitation and funeral will be held at the Celebration (formerly Bayside) Church of Green Bay on Feb. 18, 2008, located at 3475 Humboldt Rd., Green Bay, WI 54311 (920) 468-1122. Visitation from 1 to 2:30 p.m, service to start at 3 p.m. Big Jerry asked that all family and friends come to celebrate his life, both past and future, rather than mourn his passing in sadness.
