Gerald J. Ringer, 82, Green Bay, died Sunday, February 24, 2008. He was born to the late Walter and Emma (Boese) Ringer in Howard, WI. Gerald served in the Navy during World War II in the South Pacific, USS Idaho. He married the late Phyllis Dionne on August 13, 1947 at St. John The Baptist Church in Howard. Gerald worked at American Can for 34 years retiring as a supervisor. He was a Post Commander for the DePere VFW Post 2113. Gerald was also very involved at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church. He was a past member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. Survivors include two daughters, Janet (William) McBride, Neenah, Linda (James) Wielgus, Pulaski; five grandchildren, Renee (Jeremie) Meyer, Dina (Brad) Miller, Tami Wielgus, Erin and Brynne McBride; five great grandchildren, Julia Meyer, Kade, Matthew, Jake and Joseph Miller; brother, Walter (Ann) Ringer, Henderson, NV. and nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Caroline (Charles) Wery, Jeannie (Frank) Aldridge, Minnie (Herb) Stankevitz, Claribel (Ray) Good. l Funeral Home where funeral services will take place at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Dave Koch officiating. Full Military Honors to follow. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Woodside Nursing Home and Woodside Manor and the ninth floor staff at St. Vincent Hospital. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Gerald's name.
