Rodney W. De Spirito, 66, Green Bay, died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at a local hospital. He was born May 6, 1941 to the late Romolo and Florence (Schilling) De Spirito in New York City. He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Rod served his country in the U. S. Army, in the 1st Infantry Division in Vietnam as an artillery officer. On July 23, 1977, he married Janet Anne Meyer in Green Bay; she preceded him in death January 26, 2005. For a 25-year tenure, Rod was employed by Tape, Inc., serving as President for many years. He later purchased Dillon, Inc., which he operated until his retirement in 2006. He was a member of Oneida Golf and Country Club. For over 20 years, he was a member of the Neighborly Dance Club. He was an avid boater, grouse hunter and snowmobile enthusiast. Rod was passionate about golfing and all things railroad. Survivors include two sons, Paul (Rebecca) De Spirito, Appleton and Steven (Melissa) De Spirito, Waunakee; one daughter, Anne E. ss, Carmel, Indiana; Jeff Bowen and Shirley, Denver; and Thomas and Mary Bowen, Lander, Wyoming; nieces; a nephew; other relatives and many friends, including a special family friend, Gladyce Hopkins. He will also be missed by his faithful companion, Tulla. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, March 14, at Lyndahl Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 15, at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, 347 South Libal Street, De Pere, with the Rev. Seth Richmond officiating. Entombment will be at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
