Elvina �..."Red” Van Rens, 79, Green Bay, died peacefully Friday, November 14, 2008. She was born February 12, 1929, to Emil and Rose Parizek in Minot, North Dakota. She married Donald (Doc) Van Rens in 1954; he preceded her in death in 1977. Red enjoyed cooking, crocheting, reading and her door was always open with a fresh pot of coffee ready to welcome family and friends. Survivors include her five children, Lynda (Tom) Warlan, LaQuinta, California; Jerry (JoAnn) Van Rens, Pound; Pam (Randy) Cooney, Green Bay; Sue (Ray) Van Den Plas, Green Bay; and Don (Diane) Van Rens, Oconto Falls; seven grandchildren, Stephanie and Tim Van Rens; Bobby Sue, Nada and Tyler Hoegger; Courtney Nauman; and Don Cooney; one brother, Norman (Marian) Parizek; and two brothers-in-law, Gerald (Elaine) Van Rens and Clayton �..."Skip” (Betty) Van Rens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Doc. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday, November 17, at Lyndahl Funeral Home where the funeral service will take place at 7 p.m. Burial will be at Fort Howard Memorial Park.
