Helen Hansen

Helen M. Hansen, 90, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at her Woodside Manor apartment in Ashwaubenon. She was born June 30, 1918, in Green Bay to the late Peter and Minnie (Laudenklos) Hansen. She served two years during World War II in the U. S. Coast Guard, stationed in Cleveland, Ohio. Helen was employed as a business manager at NWTC for 42 years. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church all of her life. She was active in the Women of the Church group, the Lois Circle, Altar Guild, mission sewing, dinners and receptions, and the church office. As a volunteer at Bellin Hospital, she knit more than 1000 caps for newly born babies. Helen also had been a member of the Altrusa Club and also a member of the board of directors at Woodside Lutheran Home. Helen enjoyed 40 years at her cottage at Kelly lake with her extended family. Helen is survived by her sister, Margaret (Robert) Joppe; a brother Richard (Carma) Hansen; and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Hansen. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 5, at Lyndahl Funeral Home. Visitation will continue after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, 321 South Madison Street, where the funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Julie Wrubbel-Lange officiating. Burial will be at Fort Howard Memorial Park. Memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church. Helen's family wishes to thank the employees at Woodside Manor and Unity Hospice for their special care and also to Dr. Fred Walbrun and his nurse, Sharon.
