Robert Collins

Robert Frederick Collins Sr., 90, Ashwaubenon, died Saturday, November 14, 2009, at a local nursing home. He was born August 28, 1919 to the late Thomas and Jessie (Fredrickson) Collins in Appleton, Wisconsin. Robert attended Lawrence College in Appleton, Wisconsin and continued his education at Wheaton College in Illinois. He served his country during World War II and served in the Korean conflict. On July 20, 1942, he married Charlotte M. Albin in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a past member of Pilgrim Congregational Church and West Side Moravian Church. Robert enjoyed family gatherings, fishing, gardening and traveling. He, Charlotte and family lived in Modesto, California, where he owned a furniture store, prior to moving back to Wisconsin. Survivors include two sons, Robert F. (Linda) Collins Jr. and Richard T. Collins, both of Green Bay; one daughter, Linda (Gary) Mitchell, Newnan, Georgia; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Witt, Stillwater, Minnesota.
