John "Jack" Babiash, 75, Green Bay, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at his home with family by his side. He was born on May 12, 1936 to the late Lawrence and Edna (Morrison) Babiash in Green Bay. Jack served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Jack married Linda Kehler on December 27, 1958 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He worked for the Army Corp of Engineers as a shovel operator on the U.S. Dredge Pariso on the St. Lawrence Seaway. He cherished and was very proud of his grandchildren. Jack loved gardening, especially roses. He enjoyed model ship building. Being a "Jack" of all trades, he built all of the homes he lived in and helped his children build theirs. He worked in the family business, Muntz Audio and Video until his retirement. Surviving are his devoted, loving wife, Linda of Green Bay; a son, Michael (Lisa) Babiash, two daughters, Jeanette "Jenny" (Jim) Nackers, Rebecca "Becky" (Tim) Odea; six grandchildren, Drew Nackers and special friend, Carrianne Purpura, Bryce Babiash, Bryana Babiash, Jordan, Jacob and Jackson Odea; five brothers, William Babiash, David (Mary) Babiash, Fabian (Bonnie) Babiash, Wayne (Debra) Babiash and Steven (Julie) ...[more]

Jack is further survived by two brothers-in-law, Charles Kehler and Roland (Dorothy) Kehler; his granddogs, Polly and Charlotte; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by a sister, Beverely Babiash; a brother, Francis "Buddy" Babiash and a sister-in-law, Blanche Babiash. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Fort Howard Cemetery Chapel, 1350 N. Military Avenue, from 2 pm until the memorial service at 4 pm with Rev. Jan Bast-Dalebroux officiating. Inurnment will be at Fort Howard Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Lung Association would be appreciated. A special thank you to Dr. Ruth Warren and Dr. Anthony Jaslowski with Green Bay Oncology, the nurses of St. Mary's 3rd floor and Heartland Hospice for their outstanding care and compassion in getting Jack home, and Dr. John Kiser for his years of care and friendship.
