MARY COLLISON MUSCATINE, Iowa - Mary Collison, 85, of Muscatine, died on Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at her home. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 7, 2011, at the St. Mathias Church, 215 West Eighth Street. The Reverend Jason Crossen of the Ss. Mary and Mathias Parish will officiate. Honorary bearers will be Dennis Nichols, Michael Reinier, and Larron See. Casket bearers will be Daniel See, David Lara, Ken Curry, Eric Beesley, and Joaquin Aguilar. A funeral luncheon will be held at Gannon Hall following the committal service. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Monday, November 7, 2011, at the church. Memorials may be made to the Ss. Mary and Mathias Parish. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Mary was born on May 1, 1926, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Michael and Susan Blayloch Lipchock. She married Wendell Collison on August 30, 1944 and they later divorced. She moved to Muscatine in 1960. She had worked at Mary's Café and also for the Bellevue Hospital. . She had a passion for life, enjoying the simple pleasures of life, taking care of others first whether they had two legs or four. She enjoyed 'dolling up', and had a serious sweet tooth. Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Collison of Muscatine; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and six great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sharon Lara; her significant other, Mervin French; and six siblings.
