Lucille "Lou" "Lucy" Mae Lohuis went to her eternal home on Thursday, November 3, 2011. She was born July 2, 1927 to the late Lyda and Albert Burmeister in Wausau, Wisconsin. In 1945 she graduated as valedictorian of her high school class at Marathon High School where she held the position of school secretary and after that from Business School in Milwaukee. Lou met Orville Lohuis when they were set up on a blind date and the two married on June 18, 1949 in Wausau. After Lou and Orville moved to Green Bay, she was employed by K-Mart in their accounting office. She always enjoyed working with her K-Mart family and spoke of them often. Lou was very active in the church and was the choir director at Calvary Lutheran Church and played the piano and organ. Lou loved music and taught piano to her granddaughters and many others. Just before Christmas, Lou loved to spend time with her granddaughters and family making Christmas cookies and cooking clam chowder. She will be remembered for her deep devotion to her family and her kindness to others. Lou was always quick to make you smile. er (Jan) Lohuis; one daughter-in-law, Mary Lohuis; five granddaughters, Laura ( Dr.Tony) Kraft and children, Mia, Megan and Luke; Katy (Kyle) Ehrfurth and children Jack and Evan; Elizabeth Lohuis and fiancée, John Stanislawski; Danielle Lohuis; and December Lohuis; one sister, Lois (Sam) Schoof; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Tom Lohuis and her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Betty Burmeister. Visitation will be held Monday, November 7 after 9:30 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1301 South Ridge Road, where the funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. with Rev. Earl Vorpagel III officiating. Burial will be at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Sheboygan.
