Harland E. Ness, 87, Ashwaubenon, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2011 at home with family at his side. He was born on May 5, 1924 in Navarino to the late George and Lillian (Rief) Ness. He married Marie DeGreef on April 20, 1946 in Green Bay. She preceded him in death on July 27, 1996. Harland loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed golf, traveling and playing Sheephead. He lived near Crooked Lake for many years. Harland was a truck driver for Cohodas. He later became a guard at the Reformatory until his retirement in 1979. Surviving are his three children, Joanne (John) Haigler of De Pere, Roger (Jean) Ness of Green Bay and Jerry Ness of Crivitz; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Earl (Norma) Ness; a sister, Arlene Reinhardt; and two sisters-in-law, Florence Ness and Delores DeGreef. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three daughters, Lois, Diane and Cindy; a son, Joseph; a brother, Marvin Ness and a brother-in-law, Val Reinhardt. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 7, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 330 South Broadway, from 9:30 am until the Funeral Service at 11:00 am. with Rev. Michael Baucom officiating....[more]
