Edward N. Marshman, 80, died on Saturday, January 29, 2011. He was born February 9, 1930 to Homer H. Marshman and Beatrice Noyes Marshman (deceased) and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He is survived by his wife, Lola of 31 years and her son Greg Geisel (Jane) and their daughter Jessica. Devoted sister, Jane Marshman Guthrie of Cleveland Ohio and brother, Homer H. Marshman Jr. (Cheryl) of West Palm Beach. Nieces and Nephews, Debbie Kuehm (Ken), of Cleveland and Patricia Guthrie and her son Blake, of Crested Butte, Colorado, Homer Marshman III, Hunter Marshman, Tristen Marshman of West Palm Beach. He attended University School and graduated from Lawrenceville Academy in New Jersey, where he excelled in track. He then attended and graduated from Yale University. He moved to Fort Lauderdale in the late 1950’s and became a prominent member of the Financial Community starting at Allen & Co., then moving to Hayden Stone and then opening an office of Dominick & Dominick. In the early 70’s, he moved to Dean Witter which is now Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and continued his career until April 2009 when he retired as a Senior Vice President. highly respected throughout both the community and the firm. He was a founding member of the Stock & Bond Club of Ft. Lauderdale. A long standing member of the Bachelor’s Club as well as the “Restless Weasles” and the Lauderdale Yacht Club. Edward was an avid reader and sports fan. He loved the Cleveland Browns and was a season ticket holder for the Miami Dolphins, but most important he was a kind, generous and loving man who was always concerned for others. Visitation will be held at Fred Hunter’s Downtown Ft. Lauderdale Chapel on Friday, February 4th from 2:30 to 4:00 pm, followed by a reception at the Lauderdale Yacht Club from 4:00 to 6:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Broward Humane Society, 2070 Griffin Road, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33312 or The Center for Hearing & Communication, 2900 W. Cypress Creek Road, Suite 3, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33309.
