Jane Simi Restrepo

Jane Simi Restrepo, 63, of Hollywood, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2008. Jane was born in Manhattan, NY. She made FL her home for the past 35 yrs. Jane graduated from Hunter University in NY. She graduated from the University of Miami with a degree an EDU. PHD. Jane also graduated from Nova University with a degree in teaching children with Learning Disabilities. She retired in 2007 from the Broward County School System after 33 years of service as a Reader and Teacher. She taught at Olsen Middle School, Perry Middle School and Everglades High School. In 1991 she was chosen Teacher of the Year. Many of her students kept in touch with her long after they graduated from High School and college. Some became doctors, teachers, oral surgeons and chemical engineers. She is survived by her husband Jesus Ivan Restrepo; 2 step children Rene Restrepo and Sandra Restrepo; 6 step grandkids and 2 step great grandkids; sister-in-law Irene Restrepo; 2 nieces Caroline Budasoft of Elmhurst, NY and Marilyn Santa Maria of NY; 3 nephews Richard and Diago Cardona of Miami and Pedro Santa Maria of Columbia.[more]
