In his spare time he liked mowing his lawn, working in his garden and most of all, spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Merri Sedam of Joy; a daughter, Dawn Cheesman and fiance, Steve Newman; grandchildren, Blake and Brooke Cheesman, all of Kewanee; his siblings, Rita Ferguson and husband, Steve, of New Boston, Allan Sedam and wife, Sheila, of Aledo, Laura Long and husband, Jake, of New Boston, Mary McMeekan and husband, Bill, of Viola, Terry Sedam of Keithsburg, and Fran Webber and husband, Dave, of Atalissa, Iowa; his aunts, Ruth Dennison, Peanuts Vandervort, Jerry Nylin, all of Keithsburg, Shirley Litwiler, Connie Freeman and Marsha Loving, all of Aledo, and Betty Sedam of Muscatine, Iowa; his mother-in-law, Mary Hinderliter of Galesburg; a sister-in-law, Terri Kokemuller of Clinton, Iowa; a brother-in-law, Steve Hinderliter and his wife, Jo, of Matherville; and a very special aunt and uncle, Joyce and Bob Hinderliter of Glasford. Gary was also blessed with many other loving family members and friends, too numerous to mention. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Larry Sedam; and a nephew, Mark Kernan.
