Howard Edwin Johnson

Howard Edwin Johnson, 78, of Burlington, died 10:30 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Great River Klein Center. Born August 26, 1933 he was the son of Edwin Renz and Emma (Keuhnle) Johnson. He married Evelyn Dameron on May 18, 1952 in Burlington. She died February 28, 2008. Mr. Johnson worked for Champion Spark Plug for 34 years, retiring in 1991. He served in the Army. He was a member of West Hill United Methodist Church and Local #1237 UAW Union. He enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing, gardening, walnuts and spending time with his family. Survivors include his four children; Dennis (Luanne) Johnson of Stronghurst; Larry (Celest) Johnson of Burlington; Linda (Steve) Barry of Stronghurst; Leann (Sean) Hanger of Burlington; 9 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren on the way; and two sisters; Helen Perkins and Darlene Newton both of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Velma, his wife, an infant daughter and an infant great grandson.
