Thomas 'Tom' Bell IOWA CITY, Iowa - Thomas "Tom" Bell, 82, died on Saturday, November 19, 2011, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following an extended illness. Celebration of Life Gathering will be from 12:00 Noon until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at the Morse Community Club. Memorials may be to the Thomas Bell memorial fund. The Henderson Barker Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Tom was born on June 13, 1929, in Lone Tree, the son of John and Doris Berns Bell. He married Jackie Renshaw of Nichols on November 16, 1956, in Kahoka, Missouri. Tom spent many hours tending to his garden, feeding his birds, mowing the lawn and his favorite, traveling with his wife, Jackie, on their many trips to the mountains. Tom was the best husband, dad, and always was there for his family. He was loved and will be missed. Their children are Randy Bell of Iowa City, Michelle Croy and husband, Chris, of North Liberty, Jeff Bell of Apache Junction, Arizona, Lisa Sedlacek and husband, Denny, of Iowa City, and Beckie Stutzman and husband, Tom, of Robbins.
