Richard Phillip Foley, 75 of Katy, Texas died on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at the Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro, TX. Funeral mass will be held 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30 in the St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1110 11th Street in Nevada with Father Rick Dagit officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. Richard was born on December 3, 1935 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines to Raymond and Elizabeth (Welsh) Foley. He was a 1954 graduate of Dowling High School. On January 14, 1956, Richard married Shirley Jean Whitehead at the St. John's Catholic Church in Des Moines. He was an avid fan of watching old movies and listening to the music of the Big Bands. Richard is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley Jean Foley; 3 daughters, Renee (Mitchell) Wright of Katy, TX, Monica Farina of Hockley, TX and Leslie (David) Gipson of Richmond, TX; 6 grandchildren Nicholas Foley, Erin Frazee, Joshua Frazee, William Farina, Claire Gipson, and Kirby Gipson; and many nieces and nephews.
