Funeral services for Irene Herold, 93 of Lacona will be Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in rural Lacona. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Lacona. Memorials are requested to the St. Paul Church or to Westview Care Center. Condolences for the family may be left at www.pierschbacherfuneralhome.com . Irene was born January 14, 1914 to Carl and Emelia Baumgarten in Marion County. She passed away January 13, 2008 at the Westview Care Center in Indianola. She was the oldest of 10 children and the last surviving. Irene married Ira Herold in 1935. They were blessed with three children: Ina, Carol, and Nilus. Her mother passed away when Irene was 20, and she made a home for her siblings as well as her own family. She was a hard worker, and a faithful farm wife always working beside her husband. She had a great Faith in God, and knew we were put on this earth to help others.
