Gerald Elton Rice

Gerald Elton Rice, age 89, of Lisle, NY, formerly of Lovilia, IA passed away on Monday, August 23, 2010. Graveside Services will be held for Gerald at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lovilia. . Military rites will be conducted by Howard Cessna Post 136 of Albia. Online condolences may be given in his memory at sinnottpierschbacher.com. Gerald was born on December 10, 1920 to Jake and Anna Rice. He grew up in Lovilia, and graduated from Lovilia High School, class of 1937. He then served in the Navy during World War II on the U.S.S. TRIPOLI in the South Atlantic as a Machinist Mate. He retired from MOOG HYDRAPOINT in Buffalo, N.Y. and moved to Lisle, N.Y. He enjoyed going hunting and fishing. He is survived by his only child, David P. Rice, daughter-in-law, Dawn Rice, and grandson, Christopher Rice, all of whom reside in Dover, FL. He is preceded in death by his parents. [more]
