Arlene Joan Goemaat

Arlene Joan Goemaat, of Lovilia, age 75, died Friday, November 18, 2011 at her residence in Lovilia under the care of Hospice of Central Iowa. She was born to Charles and Cornelia (VanderVeer) Miller on March 25, 1936 in Runnels, Iowa. Arlene married Chester Goemaat on May 18, 1953 in Knoxville. They were blessed with seven children. Arlene retired from Pella Corporation. Chester died on January 21, 2008. She was a member of the New Life Church in Knoxville. She enjoyed canning, baking, painting, playing cards, and especially spending time with her family. She is survived by her children: Vern Dale (Jayne) Goemaat of Hamilton, Chester Jr. (Diane) Goemaat of Knoxville, Cheryl (Robbie) Long of Osage Beach, MO, Vince (Kathy) Goemaat of Hamilton, Teresa (Tony) Paterno of Lebanon, MO, Tamie Goemaat of Lovilia, and Tim Goemaat and Kathi Schelker of Oskaloosa, twenty-four grandchildren, and fourty-four great grandchildren. Arlene is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Chester.
