Marie "Jackie" Gilbert

Marie Jaclyn "Jackie" Gilbert, 71, Green Bay, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at a local hospital. She was born June 29, 1940 in Westport, WI the daughter of the late Norman and Betty (Thompson) Wilquet. On October 8, 1960, Jackie married Thomas Gilbert in South Beloit, Il. He preceded her in death May 20, 1990. Marie was employed as a personal caregiver at several CBRF's in the Green Bay area. She was a diehard Packer fan. Jackie was a very special person who touched many lives and will be sadly missed by all. She will be remembered for how gracefully she aged and by all who knew her. She is survived by one son, Tim (Brenda) Gilbert, Green Bay; three daughters, Laurie (Jerry) Holtermann, Green Bay, Sue (Chris) Stanaszak, Howard, Debbie (Mark) Vanden Plas, Howard; 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and one on the way, who kept her young and filled her heart with joy; one brother, Tom Wilquet; one sister, Linda Van Camp; brother and sister-in-law, William and Carol Gilbert; son-in-law, Mike Strainis; also many nieces, nephews, aunts, other relatives, friends and her dog Riley who will sadly miss her. s preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; daughter Wendy Strainis; infant son, Michael; father, Norman; mother, Betty. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, from 9:00 until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Demuth officiating. Burial will take place at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Lebanon, WI. The family would like to thank St. Vincent's Emergency Room staff, the 6th floor ICU staff, the entire staff and friends at Anna John Nursing Home, who treated her with genuine care and compassion, who she considered her extended family. A memorial fund has been established in Jackie's name.
