Delores Coons

Delores "Grandma" Coons was born on February 11, 1927, in Austin, Minnesota to the late Ernest Everett and Annie Josephine (Rodell) Larkin. She received her education in the Austin, Minnesota area. On December 26, 1945, Delores was united in marriage to Eugene Victor Coons in Austin, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with three sons, Cliff, Sid and Mike. For many years, Delores worked as a waitress and cook besides being a dedicated, loving wife and mother. In January of 1967, Delores and Eugene moved to Onamia, Minnesota. On April 5, 1997, Eugene passed away. After his death, Delores continued to live in Onamia until August of 2008 when she became a resident of the Sogge Memorial Good Samaritan Society in Windom. She remained there until being hospitalized at the Windom Area Hospital on Friday, February 27, 2009 where she passed away on Tuesday morning, March 3rd at the age of 82 years. Through the years, Delores was a member of the VFW auxiliary in Onamia and had had many enjoyments in life which included baking, gardening, flowers, the company of others and most of all, her family, especially her grandkids.
