Caryl Voigts, 95, of Allison, Iowa passed away December 31, 2011, at the Rehabilitation Center of Allison in Allison, Iowa. She was born June 16, 1916, in Clarksville, Iowa to Carl and Merle (Hickle) Polk. Caryl graduated from Clarksville High School in Clarksville, Iowa, then she attended Independence Junior College. She was united in marriage to Kenneth H. Voigts on June 7, 1940, at the St. James Lutheran Church-Vilmar. She was a homemaker and also worked as a housekeeper at the Park View Nursing Home in Reinbeck, Iowa. Caryl was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Allison, where she was active in the W-ELCA and sang in the church choir for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, traveling, scrap booking and taught Sunday School at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Traer, Iowa. Caryl is survived by her son David & wife Anabeth Voigts of Jesup, son Keith & wife Gwenn Voigts of Pass Christian, Mississippi, brother-in-law LeRoy & wife Darlene Voigts of Waverly, sister-in-law Sue Block Voigts of Greene, stepsister Dorothy Fisher Slade of Mason City, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
