Phillip Eugene Nolte

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Knoxville, Iowa. Phillip Eugene Nolte, 63 passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2012. He was born on January 28, 1948 in Pleasantville, Iowa. He grew up on a farm in rural Lacona, Iowa. Phil served his country in the Army during Vietnam. He returned home and purchased his family farm, which he managed until moving to Knoxville in 2005. He also worked as an electrician at the VA Hospital in Knoxville until he retired in January 2011. After his retirement, he enjoyed working around the farm; being a general handyman and helping everyone, scraping metal, and most importantly spending time with his granddaughter. Phil is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rebecca of Knoxville; son, Jason of Urbandale; daughter-in-law, Melissa of Runnells; granddaughter, Cassandra; brothers: Dwayne (Eva) of Paris, TX and Doug (Marylou) of Lacona, IA; and a sister, Dorothy (Dwain) Turnbull of Indianola.
