Darlene Kirtley, of Bussey, age 89, died on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at West Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Knoxville. She was born on April 21, 1922 to John and Erma (Metz) Courtney in Knoxville.
She married Ralph Kirtley., and they were blessed with three children: LeRoy, Cheryl and Cindy. Ralph died on May 1, 1987. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Bussey United Methodist Church, Lady's Auxiliary with American Legion in Bussey. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, flowers, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her two daughters, Cheryl (Ronnie) Allison of Lovilia, Cindy (Dan) Carlson of Knoxville, siblings, Swede (Esther) Courtney of Bussey, Bob (Alyce) Courtney of Bussey, grandchildren, Angie (Jeff) Koebke of Ottumwa, Sarah (Tim) Ritter of Nevada, Josh (Shauna) Carlson of Knoxville, Aaron (Lindsey) Carlson of Newton, five great grandchildren, and daughter-in-law, Linda Murphy of Harlingen, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ralph, son, LeRoy Kirtley, and grandson, Chris Kirtley

Tuesday evening at the Sinnott Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Lovilia. There will be no funeral service.
