MARY E. TEBBIT Mrs. Mary Tebbit, of Lincoln Blvd., in Port Washington, formerly of Yorkville, IL, passed away at her residence while surrounded by her family on Wednesday evening, January 25, 2012. She was 85 years old. Mary was born in Aurora, IL on September 4, 1926, one of four daughters born to Clarence and Sabina Kline Stilwell. She graduated from East Aurora High School with the Class of 1945. On February 14, 1947 she was united in marriage with Walter I. Tebbit, Jr. at Wesley United Methodist Church in Aurora, IL. The couple settled in Aurora and later moved to Yorkville, IL in 1972. In 2003 they moved to Port Washington to be closer to their family. Walter preceded Mary in death in 2005. Mrs. Tebbit is a member at Grand Ave. United Methodist Church in Port Washington and a former member at Millbrook United Methodist Church in Millbrook, IL. In her younger days, Mary was fond of bowling and golf. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing volunteer work through the Kendall County Extension Group. she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary is survived by her two children, Dr. Guy (Jean) Tebbit of Greensboro, NC and Sandy (Mark) Grams of Port Washington. She is further survived by four grandchildren: Dr. Christopher (Katie) Tebbit of Charlotte, NC, Sarah Tebbit of Durham, NC, Melissa (Aaron)White of Port Washington and Matthew Grams of Wauwatosa, three Great Grandchildren: Charles Smith and Elizabeth Tebbit of Charlotte, NC and Sydney White of Port Washington, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband and three sisters: Emily Sickler, Hazel Amuny and Marjorie Stilwell. Graveside services will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Montgomery, IL at 12 noon on Saturday, February 4, 2012.
