Norma L. Johnson, 84, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died on Saturday evening, February 4, 2012, at the Maquoketa Care Center in Maquoketa, Iowa. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, February 8, 2012, from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Cremation will take place and burial will be in the East Iron Hill Cemetery, rural Maquoketa, Iowa. Norma Leatrice Hute was born on March 23, 1927 in Iron Hill, Iowa, to Raymond and Myrtle (Clark) Hute. As a child, she grew up in the Iron Hill area and attended country school. Her family had owned the Iron Hill Country Store and when she was 14 her dad died. Her family then moved to Maquoketa where she graduated from high school. She married Howard L. Johnson on July 10, 1945 in Kahoka, Missouri. Norma was a homemaker who raised a family with four children. She loved quilting, reading and going to garage sales.
