Anna (nee Bekina) Horvath, age 94, went home to be with the Lord on February 6, 2012. She died at the home of her beloved son and daughter-in-law who cared for her. Frequent visits by her granddaughters, Mary Anne, Dorothy and Dorothy's husband Gary helped her enjoy her final months. Although born in Pittsburgh, Anna moved to New York and then Philadelphia where she married and raised 2 children and helped with the family business. She then worked for several years at the Curtis Publishing Company and later owned a neighborhood grocery store with her husband. In their sixties, they moved to Redeemer Village in Huntingdon Valley where she made many new friends, enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and going on Casino trips. She also generously donated much of her time to helping other residents. She loved to go fishing and also enjoyed doing all types of beautiful needlework, but when she was in her 80's and could no longer do that due to arthritis, she decided it was time to get a job. Holy Redeemer Hospital and St. Joseph's Manor were happy to employ her for a number of years, and all who met and worked with her were impressed by her stamina and determination. She is survived by her loving and devoted family; son and daughter-in-law, Amiel and Ruth Horvath of Perkasie, PA;and Daughter and Son-in-law Barbara and William Walker of Wilmington, DE. She is the loving grandmother of Mary Anne McCaffrey and Dorothy Kreamer (Gary) of Perkasie; Joseph Horvath (Lori) of AR; Cory Walker (Shannon) and Colleen Ruff (Tom) of Wilmington, DE; great grandchildren; John, Tommy, Timmy, Brandy, Hunter, Kyle, and Eva. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Kolodjiez of Doylestown, PA, several nieces and nephews, and many friends. The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care provided by the staff of Grandview Hospice and Home Helpers Inc.. Relative and Friends are invited after 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at St. Hilary of Poitiers, 820 Susquehanna Rd., Rydal. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM.
