He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Patti, sibling; Mildred Margaret "Dolly" Jackson, Elmer Hawk and Harold Hawk, and half brother Richard Hawk. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Joyce of Farragut, sister; Rosalie Clark and husband Frank of Hamburg and Norma Hulett and husband Gary of Rock Port, brother Lawrence Hawk and wife Judy of Thurman, step-children; J.D. Roberts, Tony Roberts, Michael Roberts, David Roberts, Donna Roberts, Gayle Bradley and Allen Mattice; many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Graveside Services were held on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah, Iowa with words of comfort offered by Rev. Val Black. Serving as casket bearers were Jim Eagan, Tony Roberts, David Roberts, Mike Roberts, Mike Clark and Frank Clark, Jr. A luncheon followed at the Christian Fellowship Church in Shenandoah.
