Louis E. O'Brien, was born on December 5, 1917 in rural Imogene, Iowa the son of Matthew and Genevieve (Kennedy) O'Brien. Louis entered into eternal rest on September 30, 2011 at the Shenandoah Medical Center, at the blessed age of 93 years.
Louis lived most of his life in the Imogene and Shenandoah area. He attended Rice and Shenandoah schools. On December 4, 1946 he was united in marriage to Jean Rose at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shenandoah. The couple was blessed with the birth of one daughter, Barbara Ann.
Louis farmed nearly all of his life near Imogene. He also worked for the Page County ASCS in Clarinda for over 17 years and for some 4 years he worked as a Compliance Supervisor for 12 county offices for the State of Iowa. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Mary; brothers John, Bill, Eugene, Ambrose, Gerald, Robert and Maurice; son-in-law Larry Nielson; and daughter Barbara Nielsen.
