Richard Norman Howell was born on December 4, 1942 in Johnson County, Indiana, the son of Wilbur and Edna (Hough) Eckroth. Dick entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Dick attended school in Frankfort, Kansas and graduated from high school with the Class of 1961. He served in the United States Army in 1961 as a vehicle mechanic. He was honorably discharged in 1964. Dick was united in marriage to Mary Helen Snyder on November 6, 1971 in Coin, Iowa. The couple made their home in Omaha, Nebraska. During his working years he was a mechanical foreman for Union Pacific Railroad, until his retirement. Prior to working for the railroad he was employed by Best Wall in Blue Rapids, Kansas. Dick was a member of the American Legion and VFW in Frankfort, Kansas. He enjoyed farming and fishing. He was a hard working and caring husband, who will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his step-father Kenneth Howell and mother Edna Howell.
